Unity in Diversity – Diversity in Unity | 2002

The belief in the unity of existence—that all beings and the universe, despite their different forms, are part of a single, vast existence—is fundamental to certain mystical traditions. Rumi, the renowned Persian poet, composed poems based on this belief. Salimeh Motamedi, a painter who seeks to maintain her ties to the rich tradition of Persian mystical literature, drew inspiration from this belief to create her collection. In these works, separate pieces come together to form a whole—often depicting a woman finding her identity within a chaotic background.
